In my opinion, the main hazards in Australia are the earthquakes and mass wasting hazards. Earthquakes, I say, are the main cause of many things. Australia is positioned in the center of the Indo-Australian tectonic plate, and they are less likely to undergo earthquakes. They are away from tectonic plate borders and other areas where large, more frequent earthquakes take place. A couple of these have occurred regularly in 2021. In the same year, there were 5.8 and 4.3 earthquakes in Victoria and a 5.3 in Western Australia. Another one with a magnitude of 4.8 struck Western Australia the following year, and one in the south of the country occurred in March. Adam Pascale is the chief scientist at the Seismology Research Center, even though they don't get many earthquakes.
